AUG. 29, 2012

In class we covered the novel " A Child Called It" By David Peltzer and as a class we discussed some things about child abuse on Guam and in the United States. Our told us that Guam has the Highest Rate of Child Abuse anywhere. Its really sad to hear that because Guam is such a small place and with only an estimation of 400,000 people living here, I'd say a little over 60% are children, and half of that 60% are abused children. After all discussions we were offered to read another book called " Percy Jackson's The Lightning Thief". So see you guys next Wednesday!

The very first class session in Mrs. Q's class was Great. I had a great time Introducing myself to all my other classmates. Although, I Only had four other classmates, it was much better than I've expected it to be. Reading aint really a subject I like, but it's always good to learn more about things you have a hard time with. Well, I hope next class session would be as Great as my fist day.
In class yesterday we finished the book. I really liked the book because it caught my attention every time I wanted to put the book down I couldn't because it kept getting interesting. A Child Called it was so far the second book that I ever finished. Now that we are finished with the book I want to go to the book store and buy a me my copy and also get the next two books called The Lost Boy and A Man named David. So till next class session see you all and have a safe weekend and Labor day.

Today in class I was kind of late but just in time to finish off the rest of the book "A child called it" with the rest of my classmates. It was refreshing to know that David was free from that crazy woman. I myself can relate some what to this book. For I to was abused. Even the though what crazy cycles we go through or for what I go through I still keep my ground and fight what ever challenges God gives me. This book has always been my fav. and till this day continues to teach me. Well starting Monday we start our independent reading which I had already started and now i have to get the second book. The book that I have been reading is called "Desires of the dead" By. Kimberly Derting. Its fiction and I have grown to really like her writing. It is almost like The Ghost Whisper and The Medium mixed into one. For me it's really good. Well that's it for now. Until next blogg and good reads,Goodnight....

Todays class session was really great. Although, we did start a class of two, it was still fun. I really enjoyed reading the Epilogue of the book,"A Child called "It"." It really made a lot of sense on how life is nowadays with all the abuse kids recieve for no apparent reason. I really didn't know what to read, but I figured I just take the book Mrs. Q was offering us today. It's ALWAYS good to read about something New. Well, I hope the book I've just gotten is as much interesting as the book we've already read.

08-27-12

Todays class was really great. I had fun going over the pages of chapters I've already read. Every time I read a book, it's just like watching a movie. You may be only reading what's on the book, but at the same time, you're actually picturing in your head how Everything is happening. Well, I can't wait to see what Chapter 7 is all about. Although, it is titled as, "The Lords Prayer" I still don't understand how the beating of David really started.

Today in reading, we read most of the story of the same novel that our class is reading. Over the weekend I managed to read the book within a day and a half. It was sad at first, but then it got really irritating later. Then at one point I really didn't feel like reading the story any more, due to the horrifying stories that DAVID said about how his abusive mother. We only covered six chapters, and there is about 8 or 9 I think. So for home work, we have to read the rest of the book. See you guys Wednesday.
God honest truth I finished the novel"A child called it" last week Friday . Today in class we reviewed chapters 3 to 5 and Mrs.Q read to us "AGAIN" chapter 6. My over all thoughts about chapters 3 to 6 is the most painful words I have ever read in my life about a child. I would never have done what she did to him. From the stove,Knife, dirty diaper's,and what he calls is the gas chamber games. It pisses me off that she could be so heartless and just like a 360 act like everything is fine because CPS was coming over to inspect. Some nerve! I just wish I could take her liquor bottles and make her gag on it and then have her eat her own vomit. She'll have hers. Just saying. I love this book and this is the 3rd time I have read this. This book I think was a good way of breaking the ice in Reading. What better intense way to start off a reading class? What reading Twilight Saga? I don't think so.Hehehe.Well until next blogg and good reads.Goodnight..

A Child Called It refreshing

Today's class was really great because we went over chapters three, four, five then Mrs. Quichocho read chapter six. It was amazing that she finished in thirty minutes, which is the required time for us to read each day. But Anyways in chapter six I was excited that the mother was treating her son,the one that she hates with a passion, really good, but then only to find out that the mother knew that the Child Services was coming to see how the boy is doing and how the mother was treating him. I really think that the mother is Bipolar or is on something or just has a split personality or something else. I cannot express myself as much as I can when I see that the mother just keeps beating and just keeps torchering her son in so many ways that she can possibly think of. I cannot wait to finish the book and see what else the mother has in store for her son. Mrs. Quichocho I really love the way you teach and encourage us to keep reading. I wanna go now and look for the rest of the books for this novel.

A Child called it "BLOG"

I finally finished my task of reading chapters 3-4.
It was a challenge for me because I don't really like to read, but I managed to finish it.
The reason, I was able to finish it was because it was so interesting.
It was also like one of the stories that makes you dig deeper for answers.
I also wonder how the mother used  to be the best mother in the world and all of a sudden, she is the the worst of them all.

"SO ANGRY WITH HIS MOTHER ITS SILLY"
Well I finished off the rest of chapter three and four of "The child called it". I really want to slap his mother. She makes me so mad. While I was reading the rest of chapter three my stomach started to turn I realized I was getting hungry too. I didn't want to get up eat and put the book down because I started to feel what David was feeling HUNGRY! I am so upset with his mother. I felt like if he wasn't allowed to eat I'm not going to eat too. My body went on strike. I just want to hug him and cradle him and let him know without saying a word that EVERYTHING is going to be ok and WILL BE better. Well that's it now until next blogg and good reads. Goodnight...

As I read the book, "The child called "It"" I felt a little interest in it.
I can't emagine how that boy feels getting beaten Every day. Especially from his own mother.
As I ready through this book, I can picture how Everything is actually happening to the boy. At first,
Yes, his mother was really a Loving mother, but I don't understand why she began to abuse him. I
can say that I love reading this book, although reading aint a subject I like so much. Well, can't wait to read it once more.

Today in reading class was enjoyable. We started off reading a novel based on a true story "The Child called it". I had already read this book before but I do enjoy  reading it again. Just hearing Mrs.Q read it out loud brought back the old feelings I first had when I had read it the first time. I wish I was there to comfort the little boy and take him in. No child should ever get the treatment he had in his childhood. What made me upset is how his mother only treated him like that and not his other brothers not that they should of got that kind of punishment he had. But why only him? Even if his father was barely around NO mother should use the pathetic excuse of lack of good parenting to abuse her children. Well I can't wait to finish this book AGAIN. Well until next blogg goodnight and good reads....
                                         "No MORE WIRE HANGERS":Mother Dearest..
Today's class session was quite interesting for myself. We read almost three chapters of the book "A Child Called "IT", and we have to read up four chapters as our homework. I think I just might exceed the amount of required chapters of what is expected to be read, just so that I could know a bit more of how the story is going to end. I'm kidding. I can't wait to get back to class so that we could start our reflections about the Novel. See you guys next week!

August 22,2012 session 3

Today's class was really great. Mrs. Quichocho read two in a half chapters to the class. I really like her class because she is a very respectful and helping teacher not like some other teachers. We also did another assessment to help us find out where we are in reading levels, and I will be really working hard to reach my goal that I want to aim for. Reading is not really a favorite subject to me but from Mrs. Quichocho's ways of teaching has really caught my attention.

The Reading Power Point Presentation was really a benefit for myself. I read a book "once". After, I noticed a difference in my conversations. My knowledge was increased and I found it easier to talk to people. With the knowledge I had from reading that book, I had to share it with my friends.

Today's Presentation

"This is why reading is important"
Today in Reading Workshop the Power Point presentation really had my attention, it caught my full on attention on the part about going to school and earning my diploma. If only I knew then I would of  really stayed in high school all the way. Also on the part were we discussed the graph pie on how much percentage in the 1950's were 60% unskilled and present time 60% are skilled . Reading is important and I know that it is the core of everything we need in life. I really liked how Mrs.Q presented the Power Point I just wished my reading teacher back in high school made it interesting like she did. I mean that is how you grab a student's attention.Class was great until next blogg goodnight.
The Power Point that Ms. Quichocho showed to the class really caught my attention. I enjoyed the part where it talked about the money making if I know, I would of went to school and get payed the amount that a High School Student gets payed just to be in school. Also the Reading Assessment that Ms. Quichocho showed the class got me really worried, because I really not in to reading unless I am in to the book. When I took the Reading Assessment Test, I am really embarrassed of my score. This Blog thing is really crazy because i am not use to doing this type of thing.
I had a very good response with the Reading Power Point presentation.  Students seemed to be interested with the reading content.  I only hope that the presentation will spark their interest for reading.  I also showed them the Online Reading Assessment.  I hope that the assessment will motivate them!
